Legal Officer, Eustache, speaking with community members in Save, Gisagara District.
Over the course of the next month the Gateway to Justice (G2J) Huye team will be in the field providing outreach to local communities regarding the services that Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace) offer. They will be visiting different sectors of the Huye, Nyamagabe and Gisagara districts. These field workshops aim at educating local communities about their rights and how iPeace can help resolve any pending legal disputes between community members.
The trained team of lawyers at iPeace Huye have been working hard to help provide local citizens with access to justice by increasing their presence throughout the city and the surrounding region and attending to cases that have been brought to their attention. These workshops intend on nearing free, speedy and quality legal services to poor people living in rural areas.
Among the services iPeace offers, it is worth mentioning assistance to poor and illiterate people in lodging and monitoring complaints through the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) free of charge.
iPeace values connecting with local communities and strengthening its relationship with community partners and members; its team is looking forward to expanding its reach and increasing the services it provides in a near future.
